Pooja Choudhary currently works at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Canada as a Senior Associate. She joined Kasturba Polytechnic College, now known as DSEU Pitampura Campus for a Diploma in Computer Engineering in 1999. Post that she pursued B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. During her diploma courses she prepared herself for the challenges of the future, with support from her peers and faculty at Kasturba Polytechnic College for Women. Pooja shares that the 3-year Computer Engg. Diploma course helped her identify her interests and preferences in her career.
Having completed her diploma she found it easy to compete with the students of her engineering college and complete her degree. As a Programme Analyst in Cognizant Technology Solutions India Pvt Ltd., she has had the opportunity to work at various job roles in different locations in India – Bangalore, Pune and Chennai as well as abroad – U.K., Europe, USA and Canada.
She advocates for pursuing a diploma as it is more relevant to the needs of the industry. She shared that a diploma after 10th class is a good choice for students inclined towards practical knowledge. The demand for Diploma in Computer Engineering has been growing with technology driving all major industries. Pooja shared, “starting technical education right after 10th grade initiates the career journey”.
