Mr. Yad Ram Meena holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Aryabhatt Polytechnic College which is now known as DSEU Ashok Vihar Campus under the ambit of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University. After completing his diploma he joined the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) as a junior engineer in 2002. Over the last 20 years he has worked on several projects and was promoted to Assistant Engineer and is working with the Delhi Tourism Department – a Delhi Government organization as Executive Engineer.
Sharing insights on his career trajectory, Mr. Meena mentioned that a diploma provided him the opportunity to pursue a skill oriented course right after 10th standard with experienced faculty guiding him towards his career. Several of his classmates are currently working in L&T, Railways, CPWD and DDA. He emphasized that Junior Engineers particularly are preferred over engineers with a degree because of their hands-on knowledge”.
