SIDBI – Small Industries Development Bank of India

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) is the apex regulatory body for overall licensing and regulation of micro, small and medium enterprise finance companies in India. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India headquartered at Lucknow and having its offices all over the country. Its purpose is to provide refinance facilities to banks and financial institutions and engage in term lending and working capital finance to industries, and serves as the principal financial institution in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. SIDBI and DSEU has entered into an MOU to jointly work on the following areas – ● To establish a Chair on MSMEs – to give impetus to Entrepreneurship including research on promotion of new MSMEs, identifying gaps in MSME Ecosystem, launching new customized courses for students as well as MSME entrepreneurs etc ● To launch thematic incubation centers focused on Women entrepreneurs, Environment and Sustainable enterprises or any other theme mutually agreed upon ● To launch a specialized course on Manufacturing/ Services for aspiring entrepreneurs. ● To work closely on any other gap in the entrepreneurship domain where both the institutions could play complementary roles.
