Dr Shiv Ratan Singh has more than 25 years of teaching experience. Before joining teaching he has served as a Quality Control Engineer at Brilliant Magnetics Pvt Limited, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan and as a Production Engineer at Brilliant Magnetics Pvt Limited, Noida. During his tenure as a Lecturer he has been the Head of the Department and In-charge of the Mechanical Engineering Department. He has also accomplished many leadership roles such as Chairman of Canteen Committee, Selection Committee for Part-time Faculty, Purchase Officer,  Supervisor of Spot Evaluation and Project Officer Community Polytechnic Scheme wherein they started various skill centres under a  scheme funded by MHRD.

Dr. Singh is a life/fellow member at the Institution of Engineers, Indian Society of Technical Education and Institution for Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers and has a Chartered Engineer Certification from the  Indian Society of Technical Education.

Dr Singh has also been a Group Leader, Officer, Principal as & when required in the absence of Principal Dr A K Ahluwalia at Guru Nanak Dev Institute of Technology, Rohini, Delhi.
