Ms. Rekha Hemal has worked with architects and interior designers in private firms in Lucknow and Delhi and has executed various prestigious projects. She worked as an Interior Design faculty with four private educational institutes in Lucknow.

She was appointed as a Lecturer in interior design through UPSC in the year 2000. She teaches diploma, degree, and master degrees students.She was a nodal officer for the commencement of Degree and Master Degree programs affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. She was also involved in developing the scheme and syllabus. She has completed about twenty short-term courses on different topics under the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, All Indian Council for Technical Education, etc.

She is actively involved in student-centered activities and institutional and academic work. She has organized sessions on cancer awareness, self-defense by Delhi Police, and blood donation camps. She has been honoured with an Appreciation letter for developing the scheme and syllabus of B.Voc. Interior Design from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

On graduation, to further augment her understanding of interior design as practiced in real-world conditions, she worked as an interior designer in two offices in New Delhi – GRID Architects and M Design India Pvt. Ltd. The Interior works handled includes:

• Residence for Nawab Pataudi, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi
• Office of the Bakaw wolf, Nehru Place, New Delhi.
• Office for Jindal Exports, New Delhi.         
• Office for Harrison Exports, Panipat.
• Office for Usha Martin, Barakhamba, New Delhi.
• Villa for a Businessman Pallival at Panipat 
• Office for Avery India Ltd, Balabhgarh
• Defence services Officers Institute(DSOI) Dhaula Kaun, New Delhi

After gaining substantial experience as an Interior Designer in two offices in New Delhi, she joined an Architectural Consultancy firm at Lucknow as an associate. In addition to interior design works, she started working with architects on various government and corporate building projects. Some of them are : 

• Tea packaging plant for Panacea Biotec at Saratov, Russia. An Indo–Russian joint venture.
• A senior secondary school with a swimming pool at Lucknow 
• Bus terminus at Siwan, Bihar. 
• Multiple commercial complexes at Supaul and Siwan, Bihar
• Corporate Interiors for Glenmark pharmaceuticals. 
• Interiors for Tata Unisys education center, TULEC at Lucknow, and Allahabad
• Multiple commercial and residential complex at Varanasi
• Office for Eastern Book Company, Lucknow
• Photo processing Lab at Barabanki

In addition to academics, she is also entrusted with multiple administrative and student-centric activities.
