Sanjay Dahiya Controller of Finance About IQACIQAC Committee In pursuance of its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment & accreditation & quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education, NAAC proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system & work towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement & sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent & catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, during the post-accreditation period, it will channelize all efforts & measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence. The Equal Opportunity Cell of the University is dedicated to fostering an enabling environment for students with special needs and those from deprived backgrounds. The cell shall work as a governing body to provide aid and advice to students belonging to marginalized sections of the community including Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Persons with Disability (PwD), and other minority communities enrolled in any program at the University. The cell will also aim to provide support and resources to faculty and university staff towards working with persons with special needs. Aims and Objectives: To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programs for disadvantaged groups, To provide guidance and counseling with respect to academic, financial, social, and other matters to all students and to enhance the diversity within the campus. To provide a dignified learning experience to each and every student at the DSEU campus. Functions: To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large at the University campuses and bring about social inclusion. To enhance diversity and inclusion among the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff population. To create a socially congenial atmosphere for academic interaction for the growth of healthy interpersonal relationships among the students coming from various socio-economic backgrounds. To make efforts to sensitize the academic community regarding the problems associated with social exclusion as well as aspirations of the marginalized communities. To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the disadvantaged section of society to address problems related to discrimination. To look into the grievances of the said group and suggest an amicable resolution to their problems. To disseminate the information related to schemes and programmes, notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Government, or other related agencies/organizations issued for the welfare of the socially weaker section from time to time. To prepare barrier free formalities/procedures for admission/ registration of students belonging to the disadvantaged groups of society. To establish coordination with the Government and other agencies/organizations to mobilize academic and financial resources to provide assistance to students from disadvantaged groups. To organize periodic meetings to monitor the progress of different schemes. To adopt measures to ensure due share of utilization by SC/ST quotas in admissions, recruitments (teaching and non-teaching posts) and provide assistance/ support to improve their performances. To sensitize the various stakeholders of the University campuses on the problems of SC/ST and other disadvantaged groups. To equip the University with the facilities to provide easy access to differently-abled persons in the classrooms, laboratories, hostels, toilets, buildings, etc. To monitor the implementation of all existing and future legislation and policies, which are pertaining to higher education of SC/ST and other disadvantaged groups.
