Mr. Sonu is a Diploma holder in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College, now known as DSEU Rohini Campus. He graduated with 3rd rank in ECE branch in 2015. Immediately after diploma, he got placed in HCL infosystem as a Hardware Engineer, where he worked for approx. 6 months. He is currently working as a Signalling Engineer at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Mr. Sonu shared that he started working with DMRC in the Rapid Metro Gurgaon Project as a Junior Engineer. He has also worked as a Signalling Engineer at Mumbai Metro and was selected twice as ATC Technician at Dubai Metro. He later continued his studies and completed B.E. in Electronics & Communication from Institute of Engineers, Kolkata.
Sonu mentions that the learning during his diploma enabled him to land his first job during campus placements. He mentioned that faculty encouragement and assistance helped him find his career path. The scope and value of the course intensifies when you gain in-depth knowledge of your field. He encourages students to explore and participate in extracurricular activities and engage with other departments as well.
A strong hold on technical knowledge and skills can help a student find huge opportunities in both the public and private sector. Mr. Sonu advised students to explore fields in the industry to identify their interest in a particular field. Diploma courses at DSEU facilitate the process of students identifying their interest and growth in their field.
