How are all of these items transported to your neighbourhood mall or kirana store? In the midst of the vaccine drive, how are the vials reaching your closest center? There is a complex network of rail and road logistics to transport goods across the country. With increasing volume and the requirement for delivery of goods safely and on time, the land transportation sector has gained importance and requires skilled professionals.
Bachelors in Land Transportation being offered at DSEU offers students a chance to gain a competitive edge by learning to fill needs of the sector such as timely reception and shipment of cargo, optimization of routes, maintenance of fleet etc.
This course will cover the essential topics in land transportation such as road and rail logistics, vehicle telematics, terminal management, transportation marketing as well as courses in newer areas covering Industry 4.0 such as blockchain for logistics, drone delivery etc. You will learn to use technology to optimize truck routes, improving fuel and maintenance efficiency.
The course structure includes 2 years of classroom teaching interspersed with industry visits and guest lectures from faculty and 1 full year of paid apprenticeship where you can start earning INR 9-10K a month! It will allow for multiple entry and exit options culminating in a certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and degree at 1 year, 2 years and 3 years respectively.
The curriculum for this course has been put together by an exceptional team with years of industry experience led by Prof. S. Ganesan and Prof. Gayathri of Logistics Sector Skill council (LSC) and industry professionals from Varuna Logistics, Shivani Carriers, Aditya Birla Group, and Mahindra and Mahindra.
