Archana

Archana holds a diploma in Fashion Designing from Kasturba Polytechnic, now known as DSEU Pitampura Campus. Post her diploma, she started working with a tailor in her neighbourhood. In 2004, she applied for the post of Craft Instructor at Navbharat Times. In 2009, she joined as a Permanent Craft Instructor in Sir C.V. ITI Dheerpur.

Her learning from the diploma has helped her achieve her current position. The core curriculum that she studied was holistic and inclusive of experiential learning. She was confident while entering the job market because of the experience she got during her diploma from garment manufacturing to designing.

She emphasizes on the importance of choosing the right institute which ensures skilling in all the aspects over leaving everything to the time when you enter the job market. In the fashion industry, it is often observed that students who learn stitching from a neighbourhood tailor have restricted growth. Having a 3 year diploma provides an edge to students who want to enter the fashion industry. The student will learn and get to practice the basics – stitching, sewing, knowledge about the fabric, testing the fabric, market survey, and more. Opportunities to get hands-on learning experience at DSEU will ensure a strong hold on the basic concepts which will assist their growth in the sector.
