Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India

RASCI is a Section 8, not-for-profit organization funded by the Government of India (GOI) along with Equity participation from Retailer’s Association of India, Reliance Retail Ltd., Future Retail India Ltd., Shoppers Stop Ltd., Globus Stores (P) Ltd., Trent Ltd., Infiniti Retail Ltd. and Connaught Plaza Restaurant (P) Ltd. to function as the Apex Skill Development Council for the Retail & its sub-sectors (Modern & Traditional Retail, FMCG / FMCD Distribution & Sales, E-commerce & Digital Payment Services, Direct Selling / Entrepreneurship).
RASCI acts as a bridge between Industry Demand and Talent Supply through:
  • Identification of Skill Development needs by engaging with Industry to conduct Skill & Demand Gap Analysis
  • Creation of job – role specific National Occupational Standards (NOSs) & Qualification Packs (QPs), Curriculum & Courseware (print & digital) with Assessment Strategy & Framework.
  • Inclusion of Industry endorsed QP – NOSs aligned with NSQF in the National Qualification Registry (NQR) post obtaining approval from the National Skills Qualification Committee (NSQC).
  • Accreditation of Training Centers, Assessment Partners & Corporate Learning Centers.
  • Assessment & Certification of learners & existing / self-employed workforce across General, Higher Education, Universities, State, Central Govt. & NSDC recognized Training Institutes, ITIs, Private Training Partners, Industry Partners, NGOs, Industry / State Centers of Excellence (CoE).
  • Facilitation of Training, Assessment & Certification of Master Trainers, Corporate Trainers, Teachers, Lead Assessors and Assessors.
  • Determination of skill competencies as per International Skill & Demand Gap & benchmarking NSQC approved QPs with evolved economies, creating Transnational Standards for acceptance beyond India.
  • Enable economic enablement & livelihood generation by facilitating skilling for employment & fair wages for leaners.
