Integrated Engineering Program

DSEU has launched an Integrated Engineering Program (IEP) to enable students with an opportunity for higher education and to keep students motivated to perform well. It is envisaged that a student who pursues a Diploma shall be given an opportunity to continue with their education and graduate with a B.Tech. degree, provided they excel in their diploma program. Integrated Engineering Program (IEP) creates a pathway to connect the Diploma in Engineering with B.Tech. degree.

It has been commonly observed that students after completing a Diploma in Engineering pursue B.Tech. courses. They are also eligible for taking admission in the second year of a B.Tech. course through the option of Lateral Entry.

The New Education Policy, 2020 also promotes Multiple Entry – Exit options across various courses, giving the students the freedom to leave and join at multiple levels. NEP 2020 opens new dimensions for the students to upskill, re-skill and pursue higher education opportunities at their own convenience.

The following are the salient features of the proposed Integrated Engineering Program (IEP):

  • Under the IEP, students will be given an option to pursue B.Tech. course after successfully completing their three-year diploma.
  • The University will offer admission to the top 50% students on the basis of merit of CGPA 8.0 and above or equivalent.
  • Integrated Engineering Program (IEP) shall comprise of two separate courses, i.e., Diploma in Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).
  • The Diploma in Engineering is a 3-year course that can be pursued by a class X pass student and B.Tech is a 4-year course that requires a student to pass class XII with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.
  • Integrated Engineering Program (IEP) will provide an opportunity to a class X pass student to complete their Diploma in Engineering followed by lateral entry into 2nd year of B.Tech. Degree, together making the total course duration of IEP as 6 years.
  • The fees for the diploma stage of IEP will be the same as mentioned by DSEU in Information Bulletin 2021-22. Moving forward, the University will take a decision on the fee structure for the B. Tech. stage of IEP and update on the website.
  • While upgrading from Diploma in Engineering to B.Tech, the candidate may have to move from one campus to another campus of DSEU to continue with IEP.
  • IEP will be offered across all engineering courses offered at DSEU. List of courses is as given below:
