Call for Incubation 2023 IntroductionBootcamp at DSEUBusiness BlastersHackathonCall for Incubation Introduction: The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) was established in August 2020 by the Government of NCT of Delhi (GNCTD) to equip students with world-class skill education to enable access to aspirational jobs, inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is an integral part of DSEU’s vision and mission. Coming up with a new business idea is only a start, building a successful business around it is the challenge. Solving this challenge needs an entrepreneurial mindset, i.e. a person who is creative, has strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a high motivation to succeed, and yet open to risk and failure. To provide a platform to encourage and support entrepreneurial endeavors, GNCTD has set up an incubator, DSEU Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (DIICE). DIICE has been set up as a Section 8 Company with its own independent Board of Directors. To streamline all entrepreneurship and incubation activities at DSEU, a consolidation of all incubation programs under the various campuses of DSEU was proposed under one incubator and hence, BPIBS Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (BKIF), promoted by Bhai Parmanand DSEU Shakarpur campus. Other such programs are also in the process of being consolidated. Many DSEU programs (e.g., Interior design, Fashion design, Aesthetics & Beauty) are designed to promote freelancing/creation of traditional businesses, as evidenced by a rich pool of alumni entrepreneurs. Thus, the incubator is expected to support ventures like these, in addition to typical product/process innovation start-ups. Our platform is primarily available for the students, alumni, faculty and staff of DSEU. However, we are open to be engaged with people from outside the DSEU fraternity as well, who have strong passion and ideas to be on their own, to set up new ventures and to create new businesses. DSEU has also introduced a compulsory curriculum to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset amongst the students, which will be carried forward by the students to their respective undergraduate programs as they become intrapreneurs or entrepreneurs. DIICE will be helping start-ups in all phases of business venture - Pre-incubation, Incubation, Acceleration and Post-incubation. In addition, DIICE will be offering the following support: Technical experts: To guide the incubatees on technical challenges Training: To build skillset on topics like marketing, accounting etc. Legal guidance: Guidance on topics such as company registration, tax filing Business connects: To vendors, corporate customers, and services such as website/mobile app development Investment support: On finding and communicating with investors Laboratories: For hardware or software development Co-working space & IT subscriptions: Space on pre-booking basis. Focus Areas: DIICE, will be offering the following programs: Business Launchpad Program - for incubating the ventures set up by the students, alumni, faculty and staff of DSEU. Business Blasters Program - DSEU has accepted the responsibility to support & implement a GNCTD programs – the ‘Business Blasters’. Under the program, top 100-150 teams of grade XI & XII student entrepreneurs will be selected every year out of 1000+ teams across govt. schools in Delhi. Subsequently, the teams will be incubated for business development at DIICE. Women Entrepreneurship Program – DSEU will be supporting and implementing a program of the Department of Women & Child Development under the ‘Saheli Samanvay Kendra (SSK)’ scheme called the ‘Samriddhi’ project. The project aims to foster & support the entrepreneurial aspirations of women through the Anganwadi Hub Centres (AHCs). Incubation is supported by DIICE. Growth & Innovation Program – oriented towards supporting the entrepreneurial aspirations of external entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. Research Centre: DSEU has 19 campuses spread across Delhi with access to various kinds of labs / research facilities. Some of these have been set up in collaboration with industry, such as four electrician training labs in association with Schneider & Kotak Mahindra Bank. Some are part of the University's already existing technical programs. In addition, the University is in talks with a Foundation to set up Maker Space / Tinkering Labs at a few campuses to provide state of the art equipment, resources, knowledge and an ecosystem to create the next generation of innovators.
