REPORT ON WORKSHOP OF “FINANCIAL LITERACY AND AWARENESS” A special workshop on “Financial literacy & awareness” has been conducted by Mr. Vishan Dutt Kumar at multi-purpose hall in our campus. Mr. Vishan Dutt Kumar throws the light on topic as only 27% of the country’s population is financially literate. Financial literacy is the knowledge necessary to make important financial decisions. As we Indians currently lack in the field of financial literacy, we must spread and encourage people to be aware of financial literacy. Government of India as being guardian of the country started many initiatives and schemes to be spread the word of financial education and awareness. Strengthening financial literacy in the country has always been in the development agendas of the both government and our financial system regulators (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA). National strategy for financial education introduced many schemes like: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna (PMJJY), Atal Pension Yojna (APY), All these were introduced to make people aware of their financial responsibilities. As a result of all the efforts by the government, financial literacy is on upward trend as more and more people are becoming financial educated and responsible.
